Signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Institute for Islamic World Futures Studies and Islamic Culture and Relations Organization

According to the common cooperation and in order to develop and deepen scientific, cultural and research communication, also information and experiences exchanges and better use of existing capabilities and capacities a scientific, cultural and research cooperation memorandum between Institute for Islamic World Futures Studies and Islamic Culture and Relations Organization was signed by Dr. Seyed Yahya Safavi (president of IIWFS) and Dr. Abozar Ebrahimi Torkaman (head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization) at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

At the beginning of this meeting Dr. Abozar Ebrahimi Torkaman the head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization with emphasis on the importance of improving operational activities added: “if we want to do an activity even if limited, it is necessary to apply the program constructively.”

He said: “we hope that in the process of implementation of common memorandum between Institute for Islamic World Futures Studies and Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, practical and innovative actions in the field of culture, research and science will be taken.”

President of IIWFS added that Iran is in the center of Islam power and Islamic world is constantly growing. He said: “the world is moving toward polarization which if a new pole as Islam formed, we can see the future of the world with the presence of a large crowd of Muslims”. Dr. Safavi wanted the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s view to the issue of the future of Islamic world and he added that the organization can investigate the empowerment factors of this issue by thinking about the future of Islamic world to form and expand the pole of Islam. In his closing remarks, the president of IIWFS pointed out that after seven years activities of IIWFS, it’s hopeful to take actions in Islam by scientific, cultural and research cooperation with Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and follow the Islamic Revolution’s progress.

Common cooperation in all scientific areas and applied researches between the organization and institute are all as the first provision of this understanding according to the possibilities of both sides including scientific, technical, human resources, information, experience and expertise.

As an another provisions of this Memorandum, we can point to common commitments like attempt to know the research needs of other institutes in Iran and common cooperation in implementation of  determined plans in the framework of signing contracts with independent institutions, collaboration in publishing a common scientific-research journal and cooperation in holding seminars, roundtables and workshops.

Other items such as databases exchanges according to mutual agreement, creating the necessary groundwork in order to take advantage of scientific research capacities in the form of production and publication of books, publication of scientific research journals, the usage of educational and research facilities of both sides, giving information about calling for projects and research priorities, seminars, meetings and scientific- educational cooperation are included in common commitments.

Information exchange about Islamic countries, creation of common cooperation opportunities among Iran cultural agencies and institute in the Islamic countries, participation in research cooperation in the area of unity and convergence of the Islamic nations and also participation in translation, authoring and publishing books on the subject of Islamic world are among common commitments of two sides.
