Resisting Takfiri Groups, Speech by Homam Hamoudi, First Deputy Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament

In the Name of God. At the very beginning, I would appreciate the efforts for holding such a conference. I gratitude Dr. Safavi for his 2 years of efforts to recognize regional crises; specifically the crises in Islamic World. I hope we have a conference in future (coming years) to share the solutions for these crises.

I speak briefly. ISIS tries to show itself as the savior for the countries of the region and its main goal is to disturb the order in the region. The first point is that they (Daesh) go to oppressed nations and people who are suffering and try to attract them. The second point is the fear caused by ISIS, due to which people easily surrender to them. The third point is to create a suitable financial ability and security for people who surrender to ISIS. And the last point is their ulama simple and face to face preach. Daesh’s and Takfiri’s ulama travel to different zones and talk to people simply and preach them according to the traditions. Furthermore, they perfectly work on media; they can easily guide people’s thought and public opinion. In order to confront with Daesh, we should hold national and Islam’s flag; an alliance with west would strengthen our enemies. The aim of such confrontation should be saving people and law enforcement, not political, ethnic or religious matters. Youth, ulama and nomads must be the scouts of our warriors in this movement.

In Iraq, negotiating with recently left ulamas from Takfiri groups, we managed to achieve Iraq’s legitimacy. Therefore, we should resist the created fear of Daesh. We should strengthen the cooperation with nomads. And Iraq has managed it relying on Imam Hussain’s trend.
